Judge Thomas P. Jackson (Ret)
Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson served on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia from 1982 to 2004. From 1964 to 1982, he practiced general civil litigation law with the firm now known as Jackson & Campbell, P.C. He also taught law at George Washington University Law Center from1985 to 2001 and at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy in Boulder, Colorado and Gainesville, Florida, and has been awarded distinguished lectureships at St. Mary's College of Maryland and Dartmouth College.
His private practice included cases involving real estate title insurance and medical and product liability.
He was a member of the Committee on the Administrative Office, U.S. Judicial Conference from 1987 to 1994 (Chairman, 1991-1994), and a member of the Advisory Committee on the Federal Judicial Building from 1986-1992. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School (L.L.B. 1964) and was a line officer in the U.S. Navy. He is a member of the bar in the District of Columbia and Maryland and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
